AUCKLAND, NEW ZEALAND · CONTEMPORARY ACRYLIC ARTIST

Sharon Bourne

Sharon Bourne is the artist behind Sharona Art, an Auckland-based studio creating vibrant acrylic paintings inspired by nature, hope and the landscapes of Australia and New Zealand. Bold colour, expressive brushwork and luminous highlights give her work a joyful and immediately uplifting presence.

about

For Sharon Bourne, painting is an expression of life, beauty and connection.

Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, she creates colourful works intended to bring warmth, peace and inspiration into everyday spaces.

Nature sits at the heart of Sharon’s practice. Native wildflowers, sunflowers, garden blooms and coastal landscapes become starting points for paintings that celebrate the simple beauty found around us each day.

Her Wild Flowers collection features Australian and New Zealand flora, including waratahs, banksias, bottlebrush, proteas and gumnuts. Elsewhere, her much-loved sunflower paintings explore hope, joy, grace and the movement of light.

Sharon’s coastal and seascape works capture the serenity of New Zealand’s beaches, islands and ocean, while her Garden Blooms collection celebrates colour and abundance through expressive floral arrangements.

Her practice also includes Ladies in Light, a collection inspired by women’s grace, beauty and strength, and Time & Waves, a symbolic series featuring timepieces, waves and lighthouses that remind us to treasure life’s precious moments.

Across these varied subjects, Sharon’s distinctive approach remains consistent. Flowing brushwork, vivid colour and radiant areas of light create paintings filled with warmth and positive energy.

Sharon’s original work has been exhibited at Auckland venues including Lake House Arts Centre, Estuary Arts Centre and Mairangi Arts Centre. Her paintings are held by collectors throughout New Zealand and internationally.

Every Sharona Art painting is an original, hand-painted work created with purpose and passion.

Because art made from the heart has a way of speaking directly to the soul.
