Pohutukawa Celebration

Sharon Bourne — Sharona Art

A vibrant celebration of pōhutukawa blooms and the colour of a New Zealand summer.

In Pohutukawa Celebration, Sharon Bourne fills the canvas with brilliant red flowers, leafy branches and rounded buds gathered in a glass vase. Turquoise and deep blue form a lively backdrop, with touches of yellow bringing warmth and light throughout.

Expressive brushstrokes fan out across the blooms, while white outlines trace the leaves and reflections in the vase. The painting reflects Sharon’s love of nature, bringing a familiar flowering tree into a bold, joyful arrangement.

This work would brighten a kitchen, entranceway or home office. Its red and turquoise tones make it a lively focal point against neutral walls, or a natural companion to colourful furnishings.
