about
Colour is at the heart of AnnMaree Jago’s artistic practice.
After many years working in nursing, AnnMaree chose to fulfil a long-held creative passion by beginning to experiment with inks and resin. Drawn to their fluidity, luminosity and unpredictability, she discovered a process that allowed her to work intuitively and embrace the unexpected.
AnnMaree has continued to explore different materials and techniques, expanding her practice to include acrylic painting while developing an increasingly confident relationship with colour and form.
Recently, she has returned to the inks and resin that first inspired her, introducing touches of gold leaf that bring warmth, light and a sense of quiet luxury to the work.
Rather than beginning with a fixed image or subject, AnnMaree allows each piece to develop organically. Colours move, merge and respond to one another, creating compositions shaped as much by the behaviour of the materials as by the artist’s hand.
This balance between intention and unpredictability is central to her practice. The flowing nature of ink and resin creates moments that cannot be entirely controlled or repeated, ensuring that every finished work is unique.
Her paintings are less concerned with representing a recognisable subject than with capturing a feeling—a moment of energy, reflection or joy expressed through colour, movement and form.
Because sometimes the most beautiful results emerge when creativity is given the freedom to flow.

AnnMaree Jago
A layered abstract landscape that feels both uplifting and dreamlike. Deep turquoise and teal create a rich foundation, while bands of pink, green and soft blue suggest distant hills beneath an open sky.
Fine gold lines move through the composition, bringing light, warmth and a gentle reflective quality. Finished with resin, the surface adds depth to the colour and allows the details to shift beautifully with changing light.
Heaven Is a Place on Earth would bring colour and calm to a living room, bedroom, nursery or reading space. It would also sit beautifully in an entranceway, home office, library, boutique accommodation or quiet hospitality setting.
