A fresh, luminous interpretation of the harbour, where land, water and sky dissolve into flowing colour.
Vivid greens move across the upper surface while turquoise and blue gather below, creating an abstract impression of the Waitematā Harbour beneath a shifting sky. Darker linear forms anchor the composition, suggesting distant land and the harbour’s long, recognisable horizon.
AnnMaree works intuitively with acrylic inks, allowing colour to spread, merge and form its own organic edges. The landscape remains familiar without becoming fixed, leaving space for the viewer’s own memories of water, weather and place.
Layers of resin create a smooth, luminous finish that intensifies the translucent colour and gives the painting depth. The circular surface reinforces the sense of movement, making the work feel open, fluid and continuously changing.
Fresh. Luminous. Fluid.
Acrylic inks and resin 60 cm diameter × 2 cm deep Circular artwork with the sides and back painted white
