A self-taught painter based in Cambridge, Tracey returned to New Zealand after years spent living overseas. Coming home brought a renewed appreciation for the natural landscape and the quieter rhythms of life, influences that continue to shape her practice.
Undulating lines and organic shapes move through her paintings, with layers of colour bringing depth and expression. Her subjects vary, but an interest in beauty, strength and femininity connects much of her work.
Some paintings carry a narrative, while others emerge from the simple pleasure of working with colour and form. Tracey leaves room for viewers to find their own connection, whether through a feeling, a memory or something that catches their curiosity.
Her work has featured in group exhibitions overseas and has sold through galleries in New Zealand. Her paintings are held in private collections across New Zealand, Australia, Singapore and the United States.
At the heart of her practice is a desire to create paintings that connect with people, bringing joy or offering a moment of reflection.
