A curved wooden mantel clock opens onto a miniature bedroom where time appears to stand still.
In Windows to the soul’s sanctuary, Debbie Biggar transforms an Art Deco mantel clock into an intricate diorama. Behind its circular glass window, a taxidermy duckling sits among miniature furniture, a mirror, tiny clocks and delicate personal belongings. Two small taxidermy bird heads add unexpected characters to this intimate interior.
With the clock frozen, the bedroom becomes a place of solace and spiritual refuge. Drawing on her fascination with miniature worlds, beauty and mortality, Debbie creates a scene that invites viewers to pause and discover its carefully arranged details.
This piece would bring warmth and curiosity to a console, bookshelf or study, with its rich timber casing framing a small world within.
