Two enigmatic girls hold a white rabbit against a lilac backdrop scattered with delicate yellow patterns.
In Strange little girls, Alice Power brings together softly painted faces, flowing hair and pale, gathered sleeves within a circular composition. The girls’ direct gazes contrast with the rabbit’s sideways glance, while floral and sunburst-like motifs add a playful rhythm behind them.
Alice balances fine figurative detail with an imagined, storybook atmosphere. Reflecting her interest in emotion and quiet mystery, the painting invites viewers to linger with its characters and imagine their own story.
This painting would bring character to a bedroom, reading nook or gallery wall, with its soft lilac and cream palette complementing natural timber, vintage furniture and layered textiles.
