Orchid Reverie

Cara Wilde

Lavender orchids sweep across a circular canvas, their luminous petals glowing against midnight blue and violet.

In Orchid Reverie, Cara Wilde follows the graceful curve of an orchid stem through open blossoms and unopened buds. Pale pink and lavender petals contrast with deeper magenta centres, while softly layered background colour gives the flowers an almost floating presence.

Working from her Auckland studio, Cara celebrates expressive floral forms through rich colour, light and delicate detail. The circular canvas echoes the stem’s sweeping movement, creating a quiet sense of rhythm as the eye travels between blooms.

This painting would bring softness and depth to a bedroom, living room or entryway, its rounded shape complementing clean furniture lines and neutral walls.
