Danny Forrest
A playful celebration of connection, colour and the natural elegance of two flamingos coming together.
Two flamingos curve towards one another, their long necks forming a heart at the centre of this intricately detailed sculptural artwork. Set against the natural grain of a round timber panel, the layered pink forms create a striking balance between warmth, texture and contemporary design.
The work was inspired by flamingos Danny encountered while travelling in Bolivia. She based the birds on the American flamingo, known for its brighter pink colouring—created by the high levels of beta-carotene in its diet.
Each bird has been carefully modelled in polymer clay, with individually formed marks and feathers creating remarkable texture and movement across the surface. The clean white circular frame completes the work while allowing the flamingos and natural timber to remain the focus.
Playful. Detailed. Affectionate.
Polymer clay on round MDF board 38.5 cm diameter × 1.7 cm deep Mounted within a white wooden circular frame.
