Sweeping bands of blue, pink and lime green create a playful circuit of colour across a soft white ground.
In Hamster Roulette, Kirsty Black builds a looping composition from curved, finely striped brushstrokes. Deep blue and turquoise meet magenta and orange, with flashes of bright green running through the layered marks. Scattered dots and small blocks of colour draw the eye beyond the central loop.
Kirsty’s imagined adventure adds a mischievous twist: Hamish urges his fellow hamsters to hang onto their whiskers as the stakes rise. The title invites a story of chance and spirited competition, while leaving viewers free to discover their own characters within the abstract forms.
Its generous square format would bring colour and movement to a living room, dining area or creative workspace, with the pale background giving the vibrant marks room to breathe.
