A watchful figure emerges from layers of cool grey, soft pink and expressive marks.
In Daughter of the Land, Kerryn Levy presents a woman with elongated features, wide dark eyes and long brown hair. Her pale blue clothing and softly coloured skin contrast with a textured background of fragmented shapes, scratched lines and layered surfaces.
Working with acrylic, paper and fabric, Kerryn builds compositions in which earlier layers remain visible, creating a sense of history and memory. Here, the figure’s contemplative presence explores the connections between identity, place and belonging, holding vulnerability and inner strength together.
This painting would bring quiet character and texture to a living room, bedroom or study, pairing naturally with timber, soft neutrals and deeper green furnishings.
Contemplative · Layered · Expressive
Original mixed media — acrylic, paper and fabric on stretched canvas · 2026 76.2 cm wide × 76.2 cm high × 3.81 cm deep
