Beaver Headquarters

Kirsty Black

Flowing turquoise, sunny yellow and rippling lines bring colour and mischief to this circular wall sculpture.

In Beaver Headquarters, Kirsty Black combines sweeping painted gestures with fine white and dark lines that curve across three shaped plywood sections. Mint green, pale blue and yellow soften the bold turquoise, while small red dots add playful punctuation.

The title opens the door to Kirsty’s imagined world: “HR were forced to restrict Log Jam parties to Friday nights only.” This mischievous starting point invites you to discover your own characters and stories within the abstract forms.

Three bevelled plywood tiles are mounted on a single lightweight backing board, creating a sculptural surface with subtle depth. Its circular shape would bring movement and a lively focal point to a living room, entranceway or creative workspace.
