The Veteran depicts the old and weathered Tuahine Lighthouse — battered by time, yet still standing.
Once a guardian and protector, guiding those at sea, the lighthouse may no longer be in service but remains a much-loved and respected landmark. Its enduring presence inspired the title The Veteran — a tribute to resilience, history and a quiet strength that remains long after its original purpose has passed.
The Veteran was a finalist in the Hibiscus and Bays Art Awards 2026.
