maiden

Alice Power

A golden halo illuminates a solitary figure against deep blue, bringing a quiet glow to this arched painting.

In maiden, Alice Power depicts a young woman looking to one side, her hands resting together at her waist. Teal detailing, yellow cuffs and a pale blue apron emerge from the dark setting, while gold leaf creates a luminous circle behind her head.

Combining acrylic paint and gold leaf, Alice balances delicate figurative detail with atmospheric colour. The work reflects her interest in emotion and the quiet mysteries of everyday life, leaving the figure’s story open to interpretation.

This painting would bring an intimate focal point to a reading nook, bedroom or entranceway, with its arched shape and rich blue palette complementing natural timber and warm neutral interiors.
