Hautoa Huhu- Kākāpō

Danny Forrest

Nestled among lush leaves and vivid red flowers, this kākāpō reveals intricate green plumage and a softly expressive face. Layers of colour and fine feather details give the bird a gentle yet quietly resilient presence.

Created from a vector impression of Danny Forrest’s original polymer clay artwork, Heroic Huhu–Kākāpō, this print captures the detail and layered appearance of her sculptural work. Inspired by Huhu’s recovery following two periods of treatment at Auckland Zoo, the work celebrates her courage through its title, Hautoa Huhu.
