With wings spread and tail feathers fanned, this kārearea is captured in a moment of powerful flight. Intricate markings in brown, cream and charcoal bring depth and movement to the form of Aotearoa’s native falcon.

Created from a vector impression of Danny Forrest’s original polymer clay artwork, Hatupatu Kārearea, the print captures the fine detail and layered appearance of her sculptural work. Named after the falcon pictured in the reference photograph, it honours Hatupatu’s life and legacy.
