Captured in December 2023, this photograph looks across French Bay in Titirangi towards the yacht club. Orange, pink and purple light fills the sky and reflects across the bay, while the building and shoreline provide a dark, crisp contrast.
David Prentice rose at 5 am to capture the scene, using a 35-second exposure to soften the water. For him, the deep red pōhutukawa blooms add another layer of colour and energy to the image.
