Fantail / Pīwakawaka A3

$159.00

furnACE — Andrew Eccles

A widely fanned tail and delicate blossoms capture the familiar charm of the pīwakawaka.

In New Zealand Fantail / Pīwakawaka 3D Layered Silhouette Wall Art, a fantail perches among flowering branches, its tail spread wide. Warm stained timber contrasts with crisp white details and a dark grey woodgrain backing, defining the bird’s feathers, face and surrounding flowers.

Designed, made and finished in Andrew’s Helensville workshop, the piece combines a stained birch plywood overlay, white cast-acrylic middle layer and stained plywood backing. These three layers create depth and shadows that shift with the viewing angle. A solid timber frame, finished with hard wax oil, completes the work.

This piece would bring warmth and a connection to New Zealand’s birdlife to an entryway, living room or nursery, complementing natural timber and soft neutral interiors.

Detailed · Layered · Charming
Stained birch plywood, white acrylic and stained plywood backing · A3 portrait format
33 cm wide × 45.6 cm high, including frame
Natural timber grain and hand finishing vary slightly between pieces.
Some room images show this piece alongside other furnACE works. Each is sold individually.

For each Native Bird Wall Art piece sold, furnACE sets aside NZ$2 for quarterly donations supporting New Zealand native bird conservation.
