Kyra Alkamil
Warm golden light draws two figures out of the darkness in an intimate everyday scene.
In Cornerstone, Kyra Alkamil depicts two people seated inside a car, viewed through the windscreen. Relaxed gestures and loosely painted features give the scene an unguarded quality, while ochre, amber and deep red contrast with the dark surroundings.
Visible brushwork softens the figures and interior, giving the painting the feeling of a remembered moment. It reflects Kyra’s interest in everyday encounters, personal relationships and the stories held within familiar spaces.
At just 14.8 × 21 cm, this work would make a small, thoughtful addition to a study, reading corner or collected wall.
